China...It's the New Spock

A famed Vulcan/Human hybrid philosopher once said, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." China has certainly taken these words to heart and in doing so is lighting the way to a future of social engineering fully integrated with large scale metropolitan design.

Inhabitat.com recently posted an article about the redesign of Guangzhou into a super-city. And the results will be nothing short of inspiring, beautiful, and yes...completely “sustainable”.

Improvements to Guangzhou will follow the Lingnan culture of "harmonious integration of nature with the city environment along with innovative garden design.”

Of course, the shinier the adornment, the darker the underbelly; when you don’t have to worry about pesky fair market property reimbursement, worker safety, the trampling on individual rights in order to force the mass relocation of a population, nor finding a limitless supply of cheap and often free labor, such grand dreams are a bit easier to accomplish…especially, when you have the support of an active, leftist, eco-centric design world (nevermind the media) to push the envelope of the socialist utopian agenda. After all, there’s nothing new in the way progressive sycophants will, on one hand, demonize the country responsible for history’s greatest contributions to individual and human rights as well as unmatched global economic prosperity, while actively whoring themselves out to murderous and oppressive nations who seek only control and power.

I guess it just goes to show that we shouldn’t allow cumbersome human rights and dignity get in the way of realizing such forward thinking, progressive, altruistic goals. It’s only logical.
