WASHINGTON, USA (AP) - President Barack Obama yesterday issued a blistering attack on bonuses being paid out by American International Group, the insurance and investment giant that has taken $170 billion in federal bailout funds.
He also pledged to try to stop them. Obama joined other administration officials who have called the AIG bonus payments an outrage and said the company had been driven toward insolvency by "recklessness and greed".
When you think about it, Obama's outrage makes sense. He thought giving away large amounts of other people's money, to those that don't deserve it, was his job.
